Daily life is a central reference point in my work. I observe the small but significant details that would otherwise go unnoticed because they are simply part of the everyday landscape, fixed elements that we no longer contemplate, we simply follow them out of inertia.
In xylography I found an ideal medium for me, it is a technique that combines strength and patience combining the unique odor that the wood releases as I carve and spreading the etching ink which represents the urbanity in which I grew up.

Catharsis” was an introspective experience. While it wasn't easy to confront my demons, it served as a release not only for me but also for those who felt a connection to it.

A series of woodcuts, collagraphs, etchings, and transfers. Is inspired by my fascination with this amphibian. One group of these is designed as a Totem, and another part is a reflection on how the abuse of technology and consumption divides, destroys, and degrades us as humanity.

A recognition that love manifests itself in different ways, and that it is often hidden to avoid judgment and scrutiny. The series was created in solidarity with those I respect for their courage.

Which appears fresh and alive to the eye. Flowers, fruits, vegetables and sea creatures that I created with the intention of forming a wall that would display the engraved wooden plaque and the print to represent an example of our food.

This project emerged in 2020 with the initiative of Claudia Montero, a Mexican artist based in Austin, Tx. The proposal is to create works using the figure of a skull as a starting point and make a personal reflection on the year based on that image.

A series of four prints in which I added another female figure to a silhouette of a woman. The intention was to add a figure each time I began a new infatuation, but for now I've been with my current love for 20 years and I don't think there will ever be another. reflection on the year based on that image.

Now that I am outside of Mexico, I have developed a greater desire and fascination to take some pre-Hispanic symbols and combine them with elements that have always been present in my daily life, such as corn, sacred hearts, sugar skulls, flowers, etc., and I have added embroidery to some of the prints, which are a memory of my family tradition.

These are moments to revisit what I've learned or to learn a new technique for creating small things. These activities help me cope with my daily routine, as I can do them right at my kitchen table at home. I make cardboard and papier-mâché pieces, do quilling, embroidery, and whatever else I can.
